Certificate Delivery

The Office of the University Registrar mails certificates to summer and fall graduates and to spring graduates who do not receive their certificate at the Commencement ceremony. Students must meet all financial obligations before their certificates can be released. Graduates who have not received their certificates by the following dates are advised to call (615) 322-7701. 

  • August graduates who have not received their certificate by the end of September
  • December graduates who have not received their certificate by the end of January
  • May graduates who have not received their certificate by the end of June

  • Student’s name
  • Vanderbilt school
  • Certificate area of study
  • Conferral Date

Certificate Size

The size of all certificates is 11″ by 8.5”. 

Certificate Authenticity

The certificate is an important symbol of academic achievement. If you are presented with a Vanderbilt certificate as evidence of completion, please feel free to contact the Office of the University Registrar at (615) 322-7701 for verification of the document.

Replacement Certificates

Alumni may request a replacement certificate if the original certificate has been lost or destroyed. Please note that replacement certificates carry the style and signatures of the current certificate. There will be a charge of $100 for a replacement certificate, plus any related shipping costs. 

Applications for replacement certificates are placed via Paradigm. You will be directed from the ordering platform to make payment via PayPal. Once your order is submitted, it can take approximately 4 to 6 weeks to receive your paper replacement certificate. Expedited shipping is an option for an additional fee.

CeCertificates

Effective Spring 2026, Vanderbilt students who have completed a certificate are provided a Certified Electronic Certificate upon graduation. Alumni who graduated prior to May 1, 2026, may order a legacy digital certificate using the duplicate certificate re-order form. The cost to order a legacy digital diploma is $45.

Certification of Certificates

Vanderbilt does not maintain copies of certificates. Alumni needing a certified copy of a certificate should mail a photocopy of the original certificate to the address above, along with any special requirements for certification.
