College of Connected Computing Letter

You have indicated an interest in pursuing an intra-university transfer to the College of Connected Computing. Because your application will not be considered until grades for the current semester are available, please pre-register with the school in which you are currently enrolled.

Students interested in transferring to the College of Connected Computing should contact the Office of Academic Affairs by emailing Julie.L.Johnson@vanderbilt.edu. If students have specific questions about CCC majors, they should contact the Director of Undergraduate Studies for that major, whose contact information can be found on the major department’s website.

Note: Students in the class of 2030 and prior who wish to pursue the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science as a primary degree must apply for transfer to the School of Engineering, who will be awarding that degree through May of 2030.

To earn a degree in the College of Connected Computing, students must spend a minimum of four semesters including the last two semesters in residence in the College.  A student is considered "in residence" if the student is (a) physically present at Vanderbilt and enrolled in Vanderbilt University classes offered on campus, or (b) enrolled in at least 12 credit hours in an approved Vanderbilt study away or abroad program.

Courses not accepted for credit by the College of Connected Computing will not be counted in determining grade point average and class standing. Your request for intra-university transfer will be considered once you have met the appropriate credit hour and grade point average requirements as indicated below:

  1. A student who has been in residence for two semesters is to have a minimum of 24 hours and a cumulative grade point average of 1.800 in transferable work to be admitted.
  2. A student who has been in residence for three semesters is to have a minimum of 39 hours and a cumulative grade point average of 1.850 in transferable work to be admitted.
  3. A student who has been in residence for four semesters is to have a minimum of 54 hours and a cumulative grade point average of 1.900 in transferable work to be admitted.
  4. A student who has transferred to Vanderbilt from another institution is eligible for intra-university transfer after having completed one semester in residence and having achieved sophomore standing.

Transferring from one school of the university to another within the university may result in the loss of credit hours and/or affect financial aid. If you require financial assistance as a result of transferring from your current school into another, please contact the Office of Financial Aid, 615-322-3591.
