Admission applications are available on this website. Admissions decisions are based on the ability of the Division of Unclassified Studies to meet a student’s educational goals and needs and predictions for the student’s success in their proposed course of study. International students seeking admission to the Division of Unclassified Studies must reside in the United States at the time of application with an active visa status as issued by the U.S. Citizen and Immigration Services for admission consideration. All application materials should be submitted at least one week prior to the beginning of the term for which admission is sought. Please note: Due to the timing of provisioning computing credentials, certifying immunization compliance, etc., it is highly recommended that applications be submitted no later than two weeks before the start of classes for each session.

Division of Unclassified Studies students are registered by the Office of the University Registrar. If space is available in the class, most students will be registered on the business day preceding the first day of fall and spring classes. Students interested in taking summer classes should check the Vanderbilt Summer Session Calendar for registration dates. When making course selections, it is important to remember that students are responsible for meeting all prerequisites for Vanderbilt courses in which they hope to enroll.

For questions about your bill, please call the Student Accounts Office at 615-322-6693 or 800-288-1144. The office is located at 2309 West End Avenue, Nashville, TN 37240 on the 3rd floor of the Admissions and Financial Aid building.

Students in the Division of Unclassified Studies will be enrolled in their classes by the Office of the University Registrar and will receive a confirmation e-mail when enrollment is completed. To drop or add classes, please contact registrar@vanderbilt.edu. Please refer to the Division of Unclassified Studies calendar for add and drop deadlines.

A VUnetID and an e-password are needed to set up your Vanderbilt email account. This will enable access to student web services such as YES (to view your grades at the end of the semester) and to access the learning management system. Once your application has been processed, you will receive an email from the Office of the University Registrar with instructions on how to set up your VUnetID. Pay special attention to your spam email box as well, as this is an automated system.

Yes, you will need a student ID card to use the library, cash checks on campus, and to enter some campus buildings and labs. First-time students can obtain their ID cards at the Vanderbilt Card Office, 184 Sarratt Student Center weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. A picture ID and your course schedule are required to obtain your Vanderbilt ID Card.

All vehicles parked on campus must be registered with the Traffic and Parking Office (615-322-2554). To learn more about registering your car and obtaining a parking decal, please review the information on the Traffic and Parking website. The Traffic and Parking Office is located in VUPD Parking Services, 111 28th Ave., Nashville, TN 37212. You must submit a copy of your car registration form when applying for a parking decal.

The Vanderbilt Bookstore is located at 2525 West End Avenue (across from Centennial Park).

All Vanderbilt University students are expected to abide by the Honor System. This involves students producing their own work without any help from any outside sources unless by acknowledgement as prescribed by a professor. The Honor System also applies to examinations, written work and computer programs submitted to a professor.
