Veterans and their families and friends can call 1-800-273-8255 and Press 1 , chat online , or send a text message to 838255 to receive confidential support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Applying for Initial and Continuing VA Benefits at Vanderbilt

The following documents are required to begin your educational benefits:

  • Copy of DD-214
  • Transcripts from all previous institutions
  • Certificate of Eligibility (COE)
  • VA Chapter 33 students must submit the following form EVERY SEMESTER:
  • VA students (new and returning) must submit a VA-1 Form EVERY SEMESTER.

All completed forms should be returned to the Vanderbilt VA Certifying Official in the University Registrar’s Office in the Baker Building, Suite 110.
